Parenting Young
Groups run every Friday of school term at the Mid Mountains Community Centre, 9 New St Lawson
Pregnancy and Parenting Support group
(Pre-natal and babies up to 9 months) 11am – 12.30pm
Parents and Toddlers Supported Play Group
(Children up to school age) 1.30pm – 3pm
Lunch is provided of both groups between 12.30 – 1.30pm
Parenting young is a group of agencies networking together to promote the wellbeing of young parents up to the age of 24 and their children.
The agencies other than Mountains Outreach Community Service who are vital in the delivery of this project include;
- Blue Mountains Women’s Health Centre
- Blue Mountains Youth Accommodation & Support Service
- Connect Child & Family Services
- Centrelink
- Elizabeth Evatt Community Legal Centre
- Sydney West Area Health Service
Some examples of the topics that we might cover in the groups include;
Antenatal health
- Baby health and development
- Relationships
- Early literacy
- Family Law
- Guiding children’s behaviour
